Message from the Executive Director

It is a real sense of pleasure, responsibility, and accountability to share about the Infectious & Communicable Disease Hospital, Gandaki Province. The previous Lekhnath Community Lions Hospital has been handed over to the Government of Gandaki Province on the 12th of April 2020 16th July 2020 (1st Shrawan 2077).

The Hospital is now run under the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) of the Province as per the “संक्रामक तथा सरुवा रोग अस्पताल व्यवस्थापन तथा संचालन समिती (गठन) आदेश २०७७”. The hospital is Nepal’s first provincial-level hospital in, Nepal dedicated to the management of infectious and communicable diseases. Since its inception by the Province Government, the hospital is currently managing COVID-19 cases. 

The hospital is currently providing round-the-clock emergency, isolation, laboratory, pharmacy, HDU (High Dependency Unit), and ICU (Intensive Care Unit) services. Additionally, it also provides day care out-patient, radiography, and vaccination (against SARS-CoV-2) services. 

On behalf of the hospital, I would like to thank Gandaki Province Government, all the stakeholders, the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP), Province Public Health Laboratory (PPHL), Province Health Logistic Management Center (PHLMC), Health Directorate (HD), Health Office, Kaski, Media, and the community members for their significant support during this global pandemic. We are expanding and strengthening the capacity of the hospital to ensure high-quality health care services, accessible and affordable for the people in Gandaki province.
