Message from Chairman

It is my immense pleasure on writing this message for the website planning on its launching soon on the behalf of the Hospital Management and Conduction Committee (अस्पताल व्यवस्थापन तथा सञ्चालन समिति ) of Infectious and Communicable Disease Hospital (ICDH) and from my own side as chairpersons of the Committee.

I hereby put short chronology of the hospital and its activities:

  • This Hospital was first established by the initiation of local community of the then Lekhnath Municipality with the Kind Support of Lions Club and Himalayan Eye Care Hospital, Pokhara in Falgun 2060 B.S. (Feb/March 2004).
  • The initial fund was also raised by the Maha Yagya (date and main host)
  • The current location of the Hospital has been donated by Mr. Rewati Raman Poudel and his beloved wife …… (Name).
  • From 2060 to 2077 B.S. (2004 to July 2020) it was under the direct management of local community and Lions Club of Lekhnath Municipality.
  • On 1st Shrawan 2077 (15th July 2020) Community managed hospital management handed over to the Gandaki Province Government.
  • The time was under the severe threat of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Within that climax of disaster, the Gandaki Province Government decided to allocate for Covid care. Also named CDH on 03rd Bhadra 2077 (19 August 2020) and dedicated for Covid-19 care and management.
  • The Gandaki Province Government released the Province Royal Decree on 26/06/2077 (12th Oct 2020)  in accordance with the Province Development Committee Act 2077 (Clause 3) where it has ordered Infectious and Communicable Disease Management and Conduction Committee (ICDH M&CC) within the Social Development Ministry describing details of its organizations, rights and duties.
  • Currently, this Hospital is under the Ministry of Health and Population of Gandaki Province..
  • The first seven-member team of ICDH M&CC formed on 16/01/ 2078 (29th April 2021) and working for the betterment of the Hospital.
  • The current status of the ICDH has 50 beds with Emergency, HDU, ICU and general service wards. Delivering services by 80 plus medical technicians and around 25 supporting staffs.
  • ICDH has been receiving warm support from Government organizations, line agencies, institutions, national and international organizations and several well wishers and individuals to cope the present Covid-19 crises. We are thankful to all of them.This hospital is the first of this type in the country. The mission of the team is to develop this Hospital as a Center of Excellence for infectious and communicable diseases. However, there are certain challenges ahead.
  • Expert level human resource management and their service continuation,
  • Appropriate and adequate infrastructure development for quality assurance
  • Proper adaptation of health care and environmental management protocol is always a big challenge due to Infectious and Communicable Diseases Hospital,
  • ICDH M&CC is always open to accept contributions from every one and everywhere for the betterment of the Hospital and the humanitarian duties.This ICDH M&CC team expresses deep sense of gratitude to Gandaki Province Government and Members of Parliament, Ministry of Health and Population, Health directorates and all the community organizations, clubs, individuals, well wishers and stakeholders of the Hospitals.Thank you,
